PGA TOUR 2K23 is a premium sports game developed by HB Studios and published by 2K Sports. This is a golf video game, and it’s the third installment in 2K Sports’ PGA TOUR series available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
PGA TOUR 2K23 is packed with enhanced controls, all-new playable female and male professionals, and diverse game modes. The addition of the three-click swing system and Topgolf modes have done a little to revolutionize the series, but it hasn’t taken any significant strides forward.
Work hard to become a golf superstar
From the beginning, you can choose the level of difficulty at which you want to play PGA TOUR 2K23. Fortunately, it also has a beginner’s level that will help you learn how to play. This game will teach you the basics of golf — from swinging the club to playing on a course. The app also provides a detailed tutorial on how to manipulate the ball’s spin and flight path.
In Topgolf mode, multiple players can play at once — the goal of this mode is to score points by aiming your golf ball into specific target areas on the field. While in Career mode, you will create golf characters and win competitions to advance your careers as superstars. Career mode allows you to experience the real-life challenges of a professional golf tournament by playing through a standard 18-hole golf match.
This game lets you experience real-life golf through the virtual world. It offers a simple interface that will appeal to both first-time and experienced players. However, the initial excitement of playing a game can eventually diminish as you spend more time with it. Accordingly, the repetitive process of playing 18 holes and swinging your club endlessly to shoot the golf ball makes you lose interest in the game.
Take the pros on new courses
A new addition to the PGA TOUR 2K23 is the opportunity to play as real-world pros. From male icons such as Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods to female legends Lydia Ko and Lexi Thomson —you can play as these characters in both local and online games. Beyond character models, you can better improve your MyPLAYER gameplay with new skills, archetypes, and gear from top brands.
The game has also licensed a couple of real-world courses for you to practice and play in. Some of the added golf courses are the following:
- East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.
- TPC Scottsdale in Phoenix, Arizona.
- St. George’s Golf and Country Club in Toronto, Canada.
- TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Additionally, you can create your own fairways with the franchise’s signature Course Designer. With thousands of customizable assets, you can build fantasy golf courses. More importantly, you can even upload your work for other players to enjoy.

PGA TOUR 2K23 isn’t a must-have game, but it is fun to play if you are interested in golf. The three-click swing system is excellent, and the Topgolf mode is innovative. But having said that, the game does have some issues, such as repetitive gameplay. If you’re already a fan of the PGA TOUR series, this iteration will excite you — otherwise, it may leave you wanting something else.
